Rather, it is captured through one’s own direct experience. Therefore, this knowledge or wisdom is not found outside of us, but within ourselves.
Gnosis synthesizes the most essential aspects of all of the ancient mystery schools, religions, and esoteric systems of the past and present into one. In fact, true Gnosis is the root wisdom from which all authentic spiritual traditions emerge. Moreover, Gnosis tears the veil of illusion, which is the veil of separation and division. It clearly demonstrates the golden thread that unites all human beings, which is Truth, Love and Wisdom: the Divine spark within.
Esoteric Studies & Meditation
Gnosis is a transcendental wisdom that explores a variety of topics. These are based on psychology, mysticism and esotericism, presented through classes and meditation.
Firstly, our classes explore a variety of topics specifically developed to know ourselves more intimately and profoundly.
Likewise, we introduce meditation techniques in a gentle and a gradual way according to a natural rhythm, without causing any tension to the mind and body. This gives way to experience the benefits and insights that meditation can provide. Therefore, by establishing the correct foundations, we are able to gradually and naturally increase the duration of the practices.
Ultimately, Gnosis is a practical and transcendental wisdom which anyone of good will and good heart can experience and benefit from in order to live a more peaceful, serene life and to know oneself truly as a soul, as a divine spark.VM SAWAboutFAQ//
HOW ARE THE CLASSES RUN?
Classes are offered multiple days of the week from 7 to approx 8:45 pm. Each class consists of a talk and a guided meditation practice. Practices range from introductory techniques for relaxation, breathing & meditation, to keys that can be applied in daily life. No previous experience is needed.
A weekly course of 33 lessons will follow the public talks, usually continuing on the same night of the week, and will serve as a foundation for the further development of the study of esotericism and the science and ethics of meditation in a more in-depth manner.
The study and practice of Gnosis is limitless.
WHAT KIND OF COMMITMENT IS REQUIRED?
In regards to attending the public introductory course, anyone is welcome to attend one, some or all of the classes being offered in the series. For those who have an ongoing interest in studying at the Savannah Gnostic Center, weekly classes will continue and go deeper into the topics that have been introduced. As the classes and practices build on each other, consistent weekly attendance is expected. If at any point in time you decide you no longer want to continue with the classes, you are free to stop with no further obligations.
WHAT DOES IT COST TO ATTEND THE Savannah Gnostic Center?
Having no monetary cost set on them, the Gnostic teachings are priceless. This does not imply, however, that the teachings do not have value. Supporting a center monetarily is something that should be done of one’s own free will, and in the spirit of continuing the dharma.
All of the Gnostic centers belonging to our organization found throughout the world are non-profit, and operate solely based on contributions. Gnosis is not a business, and no person involved in the running of a center makes money for his or her services. To run a center is truly a labor of love.
The public classes are offered freely. For those who wish to continue on with the weekly course, donations (sugg. $15/week/per person) are greatly appreciated to cover the costs of running the center. i.e.: rent, utilities, printouts, etc. Some students have greater financial capacities and donate accordingly. Others, with more limited circumstances, may donate less financially, but yearning to help and support, will find other ways to offer their assistance. Financial limitations should never be the cause of someone not attending the center and it’s classes.

About our Esoteric School
The Savannah Gnostic Center is a specialized school of esoteric knowledge where students learn the teachings of universal Gnosticism. These consist of meditation, esoteric yoga, consciousness, psychology, self-transformation, esoteric anatomy, the Hebraic Kabbalah, alchemy, sacred sexuality or tantra. Likewise, Kundalini, clairvoyance, psychic powers, dream yoga and astral projection (also known as out of body experiences or lucid dreams). Also included, spiritual initiation, tarot, runes, astrology, Buddhism, the great world religious scriptures, and many other spiritual subjects.
So we study the wisdom of both east and west in a comprehensive, didactic way, unlike many other forms of spirituality that focus on one specific religion alone. Certainly, at the Savannah Gnostic Center we draw upon a wide body of resources for a very specific spiritual practice: that of radically transforming our consciousness, so as to reunite with divinity and procure the alleviation of suffering for all sentient beings.
Thus Gnosis is a vast and profound science for actualising deep, lasting internal change. As we seek to demonstrate in our lectures, this knowledge has been present throughout all mystical traditions. We study the nature of the complete human being through a variety of perspectives and subjects. Because each religion compliments, educates, and guides through the rich diversity of inner principles and forms. Through study and practical exercises, one identifies, comprehends, and intuits the universal thread connecting all religions. Which is the experiential wisdom of an awakened consciousness.
What is a Gnostic Esoteric School?
An esoteric school is one that through its teachings introduces its students into the knowledge of and experiences of that which is often hidden from the senses and the common knowledge of society.
Firstly, by the definition of esoteric we find “that which is understood by only a small number of people with a specialized knowledge or interest”. Such a school would then take the yearnings – the sincere interest of its students – and initiate them into the practical realisation of its specialised knowledge: the mysteries. These are available to all to unveil for themselves, but only those of sincere interest seek to unveil them.
Additionally, a true esoteric school inculcates the necessary qualities in its students to gradually arrive at profound spiritual realisations. Which is the same as journeying deeper into oneself to encounter as revelation, the interior Divinity.
So an esoteric school is one that teaches the tradition – the lineage of teachings passed down unadulterated by previous spiritual masters, and provides the practical methods for realisation and revelation.
By means of a deep understanding of the inherited knowledge, an esoteric school maintains itself. By the dedicated application of this knowledge, an esoteric school renews and adapts itself to better help humanity in the state in which it finds itself.
Moreover, the heart of an esoteric school is the love for the light and the love for humanity. Because through the light we better serve and help our fellow man.
Lastly, the end goals of true esoteric schools is to clearly lay down the way back to the Divine origin of man.
Origins of the Gnostic Teachings
Gnosis is called the ‘Doctrine of the Synthesis’. It synthesises the most essential aspects of all of the ancient mystery schools, religions, and esoteric systems of the past and present into one doctrine. Yet Gnosis is not a derivative of any one of these systems. It predates all religions and systems, and is not the property of any individual or group.
Gnosis today is the modern form of an ancient system of learning which has existed through the history of man’s presence on Earth. This wisdom was not available to the public, but revealed only to those who had been initiated into the mysteries.
The Gnostic teachings, as taught in Gnostic centres around the world today, come from the writings and practices of a modern day teacher, Samael Aun Weor. He synthesised the precepts of philosophers, mystics, and adepts of all times into a comprehensive system of knowledge and instruction. To sum up, Gnosis, as unveiled by Samael Aun Weor, contains a synthesis of all the ancient mystery schools.
The contemporary Gnostic Movement has spread rapidly since it began in the 1950’s in Colombia. Today, gnostic centres can be found in many countries throughout the Americas, Europe, Asia, Australia, and Africa.VM SAWAboutFAQ//
VM Samael Aun Weor
The man known as Samael Aun Weor was born on the 6th of March, 1917 in Bogota, Colombia. At a young age, he was interested in many transcendental aspects of life – he wanted to know who we are, where we come from, and what is the purpose of life? He began to search for those answers in the different metaphysical schools of those times. He studied Theosophy, Masonry, the systems of Gurjieff, the Gnostic-Rosicrucian tradition, he practiced yoga, studied Krishnamurti etc.
By the age of 17 he was giving lectures at the Theosophical Society and became a member of the Ancient Rosicrucian school (founded by Dr Arnoldo Krumm-Heller / M. Huiracocha) at the age of 18, which served to educate him in practical esotericism.
But after all that he felt something was missing. He became tired of so many theories and yearned to investigate, to awaken, and to enter into the path of initiation. In his very first book, called The Doorway to Initiation or The Perfect Matrimony (1st edition) he explains that after many, incredible efforts, he found the key—or the Great Arcanum–that would allow him to prepare what the alchemists called “the sacred fire of the philosophers” and this granted him the fortune and immense happiness of beginning his process of genuine spiritual initiation. This occurred in 1947 and in 1948, the formation of a small organisation began, which soon after became an international one.
It was his book The Perfect Matrimony, at first—along with so many other written works in the 50’s and 60’s—that most identified the formation of the International Gnostic Movement. And from his second residence in Mexico, he wrote many other treatises about anthropology, psychology, philosophy, art, science, mysticism, Kabbalah, alchemy, medicine, etc. He wrote more than 60 books and gave hundreds of lectures. In essence, Master Samael taught the “Fifth Truth” or in other words sacred sexuality – as the synthesis of all religions, esoteric schools, cultures, civilisations, and races. Our SchoolAttend
